We are hiring! Engagement Manager

We are hiring! Engagement Manager

We are looking for an experienced Engagement Manager to take ownership of the successful delivery and overall health of our client engagements from mobilisation through to completion.

Working alongside the client's Project Manager and senior stakeholders, you will own Concentric's side of the engagement - bringing together delivery, client outcomes, engagement economics, scope and change, resource planning, quality, risk and team leadership.

About the Engagement Manager role

This is a role for someone who can see where an engagement is heading, not simply report where it is today. You will identify trends in delivery, effort, scope, resources, financial performance and client sentiment early enough to act, creating clarity and avoiding unnecessary surprises for both the client and Concentric.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead one or more EPM, finance transformation, implementation, enhancement or optimisation engagements from sales handover and mobilisation through deployment, transition and closure.
  • Build trusted relationships with client Project Managers, sponsors, Finance leaders and senior IT stakeholders, acting as Concentric's accountable delivery lead.
  • Keep scope, deliverables, milestones, responsibilities, assumptions, dependencies, risks and decisions clear and actively managed.
  • Apply Concentric Accelerate and proportionate project management tools to establish and execute the engagement governance and communication plan, ensuring stakeholders receive timely, accurate and decision-focused information throughout the engagement.
  • Identify delivery, financial, resource and client risks and drive timely corrective action before they become material problems.
  • Coordinate delivery across relevant functional, technical, data and integration, testing and UAT, business readiness, deployment and hypercare workstreams.
  • Own engagement financial management, including budget, effort, forecast-to-complete, revenue, billing, margin, scope and Change Requests.
  • Lead and coach the Concentric consultants and specialists assigned to your engagements, creating clarity, removing blockers and encouraging early escalation of concerns.
  • Forecast resource needs by role, skill and workstream, working with the Consulting Director to resolve future requirements and constraints.
  • Ensure appropriate delivery governance, quality assurance and peer review take place, working closely with Solution Architects and experienced Consultants.
  • Understand clients' broader finance priorities and systems roadmaps, identifying appropriate ways Concentric could create further value and supporting delivery-led account growth.
  • Share lessons learned and contribute to better methods, estimates, Statements of Work and delivery standards across Concentric.

What we are looking for in an Engagement Manager

You will bring strong professional services experience and combine delivery leadership, commercial judgement, foresight and client credibility.

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Significant experience owning the end-to-end delivery of client-facing technology implementation, finance transformation, EPM/CPM or comparable enterprise consulting engagements within a professional services environment, using waterfall, agile or hybrid approaches, including complex or multi-workstream delivery.
  • Strong understanding of the finance cycle and the systems that support it, particularly record-to-report, financial close and consolidation, management reporting, FP&A, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Experience working with Finance, IT and data stakeholders, with an understanding of the dependencies between business processes, data, integrations, technology and user readiness.
  • Strong commercial and financial management experience, including Statements of Work, budgets, forecast-to-complete, fixed-price and time-and-materials delivery, revenue, billing, margin, scope and Change Requests.
  • Credibility with senior stakeholders, ideally including CFOs, Finance Directors, Controllers, Heads of FP&A, programme sponsors and senior IT leaders.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary consulting teams and coordinating experienced specialists, with sound judgement when information is incomplete.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, negotiation, problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills, together with the organisation and judgement to manage several concurrent engagements or workstreams.

Desirable Experience and Qualifications

  • Implementation or engagement leadership experience with OneStream, Oracle EPM, SAP BPC or SAP Analytics Cloud, CCH Tagetik, Anaplan or another comparable EPM/CPM platform.
  • A degree in a related discipline or recognised accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • A recognised project or programme management qualification such as PRINCE2, PMP, APM PMQ or MSP, or equivalent practical delivery experience.
  • Relevant vendor or EPM/CPM platform certification and experience supporting presales, discovery, estimating, proposals and Statements of Work.

How You Will Work

You will report to the Consulting Director. This is a UK-based hybrid role, with travel to client sites and Concentric offices according to engagement needs.

Why Concentric?

You will join a focused specialist consultancy where Engagement Managers have meaningful ownership of client outcomes and can influence how engagements are delivered. You will collaborate with experienced finance, functional and technical specialists, contribute to the development of our delivery practice, and work on important close, consolidation, planning, reporting and analytics challenges.

Remuneration and Benefits

This is a permanent, full-time role. The salary range is £75,000–£90,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Benefits include:

  • Competitive salary and a performance-related incentive scheme.
  • 25 days annual leave, plus UK bank holidays.
  • Private medical insurance.
  • Workplace pension scheme.

Right to Work

Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK. Concentric Solutions is unable to provide visa sponsorship for this role.
